Police searching for fatal hit-and-run suspect in Florence

The driver of an unknown vehicle crashed into a moped that was traveling south on Irby Street near the City of Florence. FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - The Florence Police Department and Fatal Investigation Team responded to a collision that left one moped rider dead early Saturday morning, according to Major Raines. The collision caused the moped driver to fall into the roadway and the driver fled the scene, according to Raines.  

Hit-and-run crash kills Florence moped driver

The crash happened on the south bound lane of S. Irby Street, just north of Southside crossing. The driver of the moped was Brandon Lynn Creason, 21, of Florence.

UPDATE: Raw footage released from fatal hit-and-run in Florence

The incident is being investigated by the Florence Police Dept. and Florence County Coroner’s Office. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Florence Police Department.

Fatal hit-and-run suspect charged in Florence

The Florence Police Department released raw footage of that collision. According to Raines, Sidney Keith Haynes, 47, is charged with hit-and-run, and felony DUI. According to the Florence County Detention Center, no bond is set for Haynes.
