Bicyclist struck by vehicle on U.S. 501 bridge, SCHP investigating
South Carolina Highway Patrol authorities are investigating what appears to be a hit-and-run after a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning, according to Sgt. Bob Beres with the highway patrol.
The crash occurred at 5:49 a.m. on U.S. 501 on the Intercoastal Waterway bridge, authorities said. The bicyclist was taken to the hospital with injuries, but the victim’s condition is currently unknown, Beres said. Highway patrol officials are looking for the vehicle involved.
