After fatal crash near Sweetwater, 18-wheeler catches fire

Sweetwater Fire Chief Grant Madden tells KTXS News that a Camaro driving in the fast lane of eastbound I-20 crashed just after midnight.

Madden says that an 18-wheeler traveling on I-20 hit the Camaro after it had crashed and ruptured a diesel tank, causing the truck to catch fire.

One Killed in I-20 Crash Near Roscoe

The 18 wheeler driven by Tem Tanh from Georgia was merging onto I-20 from US 84. Tanh lost control of his rig and it rolled onto its side. A Freightliner wrecker driven by Ronald Jett from Lubbock struck the overturning 18 wheeler. Jett was killed in the wreck. He was not wearing a seat belt. A pickup driven by Mikle Lee Sadler took evasive action to avoid the developing crash and overturned.
