A collision in Northwest Austin Friday night leaves a mother and son dead.
Police say at least three vehicles collided just before 11:20 p.m. in front of the Tintara at Canyon Creek Apartments on 620 just north of 2222.
A vehicle rear ended a second vehicle and knocked it across the street into a third vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 60-year-old Peggy Howard, died at the crash and her front seat passenger was transported to the Round Rock Hospital with serious injuries. The passenger of the vehicle was the driver's 18-year-old son Cale. He died early Saturday morning.
The driver of the first vehicle, who caused the crash, was the only person in his car and he fled the scene on foot. Travis County deputies apprehended the driver and he was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
The driver, Nicolas Wyzycowski, is charged with 19 felony counts. The driver was intoxicated and his charges include: intoxication manslaughter, intoxication assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and five counts of failure to stop and render aid.
