Two dead in Southeast Austin auto-pedestrian crash

Officers are not sure if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash, but say that since the crash was early in the morning before sunrise, the fact that it was dark may have played a role.

The Austin Police Department tweeted that two victims, males believed to be in their 30s, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Pedestrian was trying to pull man out of road when he was hit and killed

Colton’s body landed in the center turn lane, prompting 26-year-old John David Price to run out and help him. Price was pulling Colton out of the roadway when the two were hit by a Dodge Charger heading west along Burleson Road. Colton and Price died at the scene.

A crash involving two cars and two pedestrians left two people dead just after 6 a.m. Wednesady morning. The accident happened on Burleson Road and Promontory Point Drive in Southeast Austin. The victims are believed to be males in their 30s. Both drivers are cooperating with the investigation. Check back for updates on this developing story.
