Police investigating deadly multi-car accident

Austin police are investigating a deadly multi-car accident in South Austin. It happened at Slaughter Lane and Manchaca Road around 12:30 p.m. and involved nine vehicles. Investigators believe one of the cars had been involved in an accident just north of the intersection, and was traveling southbound shortly before, but they are still investigating if that was the cause of the second crash.

Police ID woman killed in multi-vehicle crash in South Austin

According to Austin-Travis County EMS, 73-year-old Titus died at the crash. EMS also reported two people were pinned in and had to be extracted. Five people were taken to University Medical Center-Brackenridge, one person refused transport and another was not injured. Walker said initially none of the injuries were considered critical.
