Investigators say Camateco-Mercado fled the scene on foot and hid in a nearby dumpster but was located by a Travis County Sheriff's Office deputy.
He is charged with intoxication assault and failure to stop and render aid. Further charges could be filed.
Why every fatality from a crash is not legally a wrongful death
