According to Officer Christopher Irwin, the girl was struck in the roadway by a van in the mobile home community in the 1400 block of East Rundberg Lane. Medics took her to the hospital where she died shortly after arriving there.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, Irwin said. He added that no charges are pending and police do not think alcohol was involved.
