Austin-Travis County EMS medics responded around 1:15 to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle in the 9100 block of Interstate 35 South.

Investigators with the Austin Police Department say 33-year-old Afshin Andrew Sustaita was trying to cross to the eastside of the highway when he was struck by a 2009 Nissan Altima in the outside lane.
