Light Pole Crashes Down, Killing Driver in Dallas

One person was killed after a light pole fell down onto the Dallas North Tollway following a separate crash, police said Sunday. As the light pole was falling, it struck a Subaru BRZ passenger car, killing the driver. It happened on the Dallas North Tollway near Northwest Highway at about 11:30 p.m. At least four other vehicles struck the pole and debris on the roadway. According to Department of Public Safety spokesman Lonny Haschel, a car was traveling north on the tollway when, for an undetermined reason, it veered onto the shoulder, striking a light pole.
