Cell phone and surveillance camera video shows the chopper spiraled to the ground and burst into flames around 11:30am Friday in a small empty lot along the 2200 block of Lakeview Parkway, a popular commercial area lined with Walmart, Home Depot and a QT gas station.

According to WFAA in Dallas, the helicopter belongs to Sky Helicopters, a North Texas-based helicopter company.

Wallis worked as an equine veterinarian in Pilot Point, specializing in orthopedic surgery for equine athletes, according to his company’s website.

Trout worked for the U.S. Forest Service as a firefighter and also worked at Whirly-Girls International as the head of communications.

Video from witnesses showed the helicopter and its separated tail section falling from the sky. The tail was ultimately found on top of a nearby business building about 300 feet from the wreckage, according to the NTSB.
