Brownsville PD investigating fatal motorcycle accident
Sheriff Garza says Sheriff Deputies, Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), and the Brownsville Police Department (BPD) were on the scene last night controlling traffic after the accident.
Victim in fatal motorcycle crash identified
DPS said Long was riding a 1997 Harley Davidson and was traveling northbound on Old Port Isabel Road and attempted to make a wide-turn onto Robindale Road, and as a result struck a utility post.
Since motorcycle crashes often end in serious injuries, victims need immediate help
Motorcycle accidents are more likely to end in serious injuries or death for the motorcyclist, since the rider is not protected from the force of a collision. When a motorcycle accident happens, the injured rider needs immediate, appropriate medical care, the accident needs to be investigated, and the insurance companies need to be informed.
When a motorcycle crash is caused by negligence, additional steps need to be taken to protect the legal rights of the injured motorcyclist or the family members of someone killed in a motorcycle crash. Go here to learn more about motorcycle accidents and claims.
