One man seriously injured, airlifted to hospital, driver suffers minor injuries, after their SUV leaves a roadway in Houston and crashes into a ditch.

A Life Flight helicopter rushed a man to the hospital Tuesday night after the car he was in crashed and flipped onto its side.

Investigators said a Ford Explorer was headed east on W. Little York Road near Cunningham Road just before 11 p.m. when the crash occurred.

Officers on the scene said the driver lost control and drove into a ditch on the left side of the road.

The vehicle hit a culvert in that ditch and flew into the air, landing on its side.

Emergency responders took one passenger to the hospital in serious but stable condition.

The driver passed a sobriety test and was released with minor injuries.
