One person killed, 5 others injured, after street racing leads to a car crash on Scott Street in the Sunnyside area of Houston, Texas

A street racing crash on Tuesday in Sunnyside killed one person and injured several others, police said. Two cars were apparently racing about 2 p.m. in the 9100 block of southbound Scott when one of the drivers lost control and struck a tree, authorities said. Police said one of the people in a Pontiac Grand Prix was thrown from the car and died. At least five others were taken to Ben Taub General Hospital and Memorial Hermann Hospital. Their conditions weren't known later Tuesday.
