A Houston police officer was hurt when an alleged drunk driver slammed into his patrol car in north Houston.

It happened last night on North Shepherd at Thornton last night.
Authorities say a woman failed to yield and hit the officer's car, sending it into a utility pole. We're told the woman was arrested on DUI charges.
The officer was taken to a hospital and is expected to be OK.
