Officials say a man is dead after he crashed his motorcycle in southeast Houston.

Officials say a man is dead after he crashed his motorcycle in southeast Houston.

It happened around 9 p.m. Saturday in the 6800 block of E. Orem Drive.

Police say the 24-year-old man was speeding on a motorcycle when he lost control going over a bridge near E. Mykawa.

The motorcycle hit a guardrail and the victim was tossed from the bike.

Authorities say the man was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The victim's name was not immediately released.
