73-year-old man killed in fatal traffic accident

Police said a 73-year-old man was pronounced dead after after being transported to Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center. The Houston Police Department is investigating a fatal accident that happened at 9:50 a.m. Authorities said that no other vehicles were involved in the accident. The Avalon then drove over a concrete median, crossed all eastbound lanes of Westheimer and then struck a tree on the south side of the roadway.
