Woman ID'd in fatal crash on San Pedro(link is external)
Police have identified the woman who died in a crash early Friday near the San Pedro Avenue and Basse Road intersection as Senaida Delagarza, 43.
Delagarza was speeding southbound on San Pedro in her 2007 Nissan Sentra just after 1 a.m. when a 2006 Dodge Charger, driven by 35-year-old James Ybanez, pulled out of a private driveway, according to a police report. The Sentra crashed into the Charger and the Sentra's passenger side airbags deployed but the front airbags did not, according to police.
Delagarza, Ybanez and his passenger, 37-year-old Raquel Ybanez, were hospitalized, police said.
Delagarza died just after 2 a.m. at University Hospital, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner's office. She died of blunt force injuries sustained in the crash, according to the medical examiner.
James Ybanez told police he had been drinking, but he was not intoxicated at the time of the wreck, according to police.
