A man died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a van just before 9 a.m. Monday on Perrin Beitel Road on the Northeast Side.

The motorcyclist who died in a Monday morning accident on Perrin Beitel Road has been identified as Frederick Keicer, 57.

A man died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a van just before 9 a.m. Monday on Perrin Beitel Road on the Northeast Side.
The man was riding a scooter-type motorcycle southbound on Perrin Beitel Road when a marked Global Restoration Services van headed northbound turned left in front of the motorcyclist, causing the two to collide, according to police.
The motorcyclist was pinned under the van and dragged a short distance, according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said they did not expect charges or citations to be filed as a result of the crash.
UPDATE: Frederick Keicer, 57, has been identified as the driver of the scooter. 12/05/13
