Man arrested for a hit-and-run crash that killed a teenager on a bicycle on the South Side
The incident happened around 10:28 p.m. in the 8500 block of IH-35 South and the 3000 block of Kiowa on May 6. When they arrived, authorities found 18-year-old Jacob Lopez deceased in the median next to his bicycle and a piece of plastic from a vehicle with the word "Ford" imprinted - which they used to identify that Lopez was struck by a car before it fled.
