A 16-year-old Copperas Cove High School student who was struck and killed by a train near the school Wednesday afternoon was walking on the tracks, police said in a press release Thursday.

Conductors and the locomotive engineer on the train were not injured. The train is equipped with cameras, and the camera will be looked out to figure out what happened.
