Police said drugs and alcohol were not believed to be factors and investigators were looking at whether the man had suffered any type of medical condition while driving.

The crash forced closure of roads in the area for several hours Monday afternoon. Bountiful police say the investigation is ongoing.

The cause of the accident was still unknown Tuesday, but Bountiful police Lt. Dave Edwards said investigators had ruled out alcohol as a factor. Edwards said the family stated Witsman was not suicidal and police are waiting for the medical examiner's report to see if an unknown medical condition may have caused the accident.
A head-on collision killed a 64-year-old male driver and injured another at 500 West and 400 North in Bountiful, Utah. The 64-year-old driver of a BMW was said to be driving erratically at high-speed down I-15, hit a concrete barrier after exiting the freeway to 500 West southbound, then collided with the 37-year-old driver of a pickup truck. The pickup truck driver sustained only minor injuries.
