Cindy Smith, 36, dies in two-vehicle wreck in which teen driver runs a red light on Antelope Drive and 700 West in Layton, Utah
Woman killed in crash at Layton intersection identified
The driver of the pickup, a 17-year-old girl, reportedly ran a red light, he said. The woman in the Camry, 36-year-old Cindy Smith of Syracuse, was transported to Davis Hospital and Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, Lyman said. The teen driver of the pickup was not physically injured, Lyman said, but was later transported to a local hospital for "shock symptoms" as she apparently became overwhelmed by what had happened. There was no evidence of impairment, Lyman said.

After a serious crash, several steps need to be taken, including dealing with the insurance companies, tracking and documenting lost income from missed work, coordinating medical bill payments, and handling an insurance claim.
