Three people are in custody after a police chase through Ogden that ended in a crash.

Police received a call shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday about gunshots fired from a brown, four-door vehicle near 3300 S. Lincoln Ave., according to a police news release.

Officers saw a brown Ford Explorer within minutes and tried to pull it over, but the driver kept going, according to the release. Officers chased the Explorer to a Washington Terrace neighborhood near 5000 S. 100 West, where they had to stop pursuing because of high speeds and the suspect driver’s erratic driving, the release adds.

As they stopped their pursuit, officers saw the Explorer go off the road and roll. The people inside the SUV — two men and a woman — got out and tried to run, but police took them all into custody, according to the release. One of the men was shocked with a Taser during the arrest, police say.

The two men are documented gang members, according to the release. The three were booked into the Weber County jail.

Officers reported finding two handguns inside the SUV.

The Weber County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.
