UHP: California man identified as I-84 fatal crash victim

The UHP said Tuesday that Arzaga was ejected as the vehicle first went off the westbound shoulder, overcorrected, spun sideways across both lanes and then rolled off the shoulder and landed on its roof.
The Utah Highway Patrol has identified a California man who died earlier this week in a crash on Interstate 84 near Snowville. Troopers say Albert Arzaga, 54, of Chula Vista, Calif., was a passenger in a 2013 Chrysler minivan that rolled at 6:16 p.m. Monday. UHP said Arzaga was ejected as the vehicle first went off the westbound shoulder, overcorrected, spun sideways across both lanes and then rolled off the shoulder and landed on its roof. Arzaga was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, near Exit 5 just past Snowville. Another male adult passenger remained in critical condition Tuesday at Ogden Regional Hospital, as did a 4-year-old girl who was flown to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City. Four other occupants of the minivan were treated for minor injuries and released.
