Two trains passed through an area in Tooele County where a man was found hit early Monday morning, police say.
A Tooele man was critically hurt when he was hit by a train Monday morning.
About 2:25 a.m., a Union Pacific conductor called Tooele County dispatchers about a man running around the tracks. The conductor did not think he had hit the man, but when a second conductor called dispatchers about 45 minutes later, it was about a man lying on the side of the tracks, said Tooele Police.
Officers found Jeremy North, 32, in a field near 1000 N. 400 West. A medical helicopter flew him to the hospital in critical condition.
He was in shock, so police are still investigating why he was near the tracks at that hour and how the collision occurred.
