Multi-vehicle injury accident on Bangerter Highway.
A four-vehicle crash with at least two minor injuries brought commuters to a crawl Thursday morning on Bangerter Highway.
The 8 a.m. accident closed down two northbound lanes for about an hour on a West Valley City stretch of the highway, near 4000 South and 3800 West.
A West Valley City police Lt. said the accident began when a red pickup truck rear-ended a car, triggering more crashes involving another, red pickup which collided with the same car again, forcing it to sideswipe a second passenger car.
Two of the drivers complained of neck and back pain but neither one of them was transported to the hospital,. Taylor said.
Taylor said that just before the collisions, traffic in the area had slowed due to a WVCPD officer’s pulling over of another motorist. Both the officer and the pulled over driver were off the road and out of traffic when the crashes occurred.
