Fatal afternoon crash snarls traffic

One person is dead after a fatal crash between a small pickup truck and a motorcycle on U.S. 29 at the U.S. 250 (Ivy Road) exit, Albemarle police confirm. The crash occurred around 3:15 p.m. in the northbound lanes of U.S. 29 about a half-mile south of the Ivy Road ramps. It blocked the northbound right lane and shoulder.
