According to a press release from the Scott County Sheriff's Office, investigators received information that two people were in possession of chemicals used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Stanley and Addington were engaged in a high-speed chase after they refused to stop for an officer attempting to pull them over for registration violations. At some point in the chase, the suspects reportedly threw a gallon-jug of Muriatic acid onto the roadway behind them, which created a chemical cloud that caused the police officer to lose control and strike a mailbox. While the suspects successfully eluded police during the chase, they were still later found and arrested.
