Casavant, 60, exited the freeway at the southbound off-ramp of Interstate 5 but ran through the stop sign at the end of the ramp.The Altima crashed into a guard rail on the opposite side of the road. No other cars were hit. Casavant, the Altima's only occupant, was briefly knocked out. She couldn't recall how the crash happened. Troopers don't think drugs or alcohol were involved; they were investigating medical problems as a possible cause.
