Washington State University student Silvia Muro-Escalante was headed west on State Route 26 just after 6 p.m. when her car left the roadway and rolled 40 yards.

A driver hit a 10-year-old boy, then crashed into a fence near East Mission Avenue and North Cook Street around 7:30 a.m. Thursday in north Spokane. The boy suffered serious injuries and is currently in the hospital in critical condition. The driver is cooperating with investigators.

At about 8:40am, Vargas was driving on I-82 when she lost control, struck the left guardrail and then the right guardrail, and finally came to rest in the median. She sustained injuries of unknown severity and was transported to PMH Medical Center.

A 51-year-old man was hospitalized when he was struck by a hit and run driver at 16th St. and Oberlin Road. The vehicle has been described as a dark-colored, possibly green, older SUV, and police are still searching for the suspect.

At about 3:00 pm, a man hijacked a woman's car, struck her with it, and fled the scene, which lead police to pursue the man. Eventually, the man crashed the vehicle and was detained, and the woman who was hit was hospitalized, but only sustained non-life threatening injuries.
