A crash involving a Town of Kewaskum ambulance, a school bus and another vehicle injured six people Friday, five of whom had to be taken to hospitals, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
A crash involving a Town of Kewaskum ambulance, a school bus and another vehicle injured six people Friday, five of whom had to be taken to hospitals, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office. Conditions were not immediately available on the five, who included three ambulance staff, one patient being transported and the driver of the other vehicle, according to a sheriff's office news release. According to the release, the crash was reported shortly before 11 a.m. at the intersection of State Highway 45 and County Highway H/Badger Road in the Town of Kewaskum. The ambulance was headed south on Highway 45 when it was struck by a westbound vehicle after entering the controlled intersection. After being struck, the ambulance continued south, struck a light pole and entered the median. It then struck a Riteway bus that was stopped in the northbound turn lane to Badger Road. The bus was transporting middle school-aged children to Sunburst Ski Area in Kewaskum, where they were taken by a second bus en route to Sunburst after the crash. A minor injury suffered by one of the children was reported after they reached the ski hill, according to the release, which provided no additional information.
