Police: Motorcyclist traveling at a high rate of speed dies after striking vehicle in Whitefish Bay

Whitefish Bay police say Wargolet was operating at a high rate of speed — headed northbound on Oakland Avenue when he collided with a car headed eastbound on E. Cumberland Boulevard.

Whitefish Bay police confirm with FOX6 News the operator of a motorcycle involved in a crash with a vehicle on Monday night, June 16th, has died.

He is 21-year-old Joseph Wargolet.

Whitefish Bay police responded to the scene just before 7:30 p.m.

It happened at the intersection of N. Oakland Avenue and E. Cumberland Boulevard in Whitefish Bay.

Whitefish Bay police say Wargolet was operating at a high rate of speed — headed northbound on Oakland Avenue when he collided with a car headed eastbound on E. Cumberland Boulevard.

Wargolet was seriously injured in the crash — and was taken by North Shore Fire/Rescue to Froedtert Hospital.

There, he died as a result of injuries suffered in the crash.

Whitefish Bay police say he was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the vehicle is a 71-year-old Milwaukee man.

He was not injured — and was the only occupant of that vehicle.

The Wisconsin State Patrol has been called in to conduct an investigation into this incident.
