A Cessna 210 airplane crashed Sunday night in Lee’s Summit, injuring two people aboard. Around 5:45 p.m., witnesses at Legacy Park reported a low-flying airplane that appeared to be in trouble. Minutes later, emergency personnel were called to a field off Colbern and Windsor roads, just east of the park, on a report of a downed aircraft.

A Columbia Station couple died about 5:45 p.m. Sunday when the motorcycle they were riding struck a vehicle on Grafton Road. The crash occurred at a sharp curve in front of 36781 Grafton Road about a half-mile north of Mennell Road. The motorcyclist, Robert Willis, was southbound when he rode left of center and collided with the front driver’s side of a northbound Chevrolet Equinox with three people inside, said the Ohio Highway Patrol’s Elyria post. Police said what caused Willis to collide with the Equinox remains under investigation, but accidents frequently occur in the area.

A motorcyclist died after a collision in Everett Sunday afternoon, police said. Police responded to a report of a crash that happened in the 4900 block of northbound Evergreen Way before 3 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a 36-year-old motorcyclist severely injured. He was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. According to police, a motorcycle was traveling southbound when a vehicle was turning left, in front of the motorcycle, into the QFC parking lot. The motorcyclist tried to stop but collided with the car.

Police say a woman was struck by a car and killed in East Goshen Township, Chester County. It happened around 11:30 Sunday morning on the 1600 block of Paoli Pike near East Goshen Park. Police say the victim was walking with a family member but decided to head back to their vehicle. As she was crossing the street, she was struck. Officers arrived to find a 76-year-old woman lying on the side of the road with serious injuries. She was taken to Paoli Hospital where she later died. The driver, an 83-year-old man, stopped at the scene and spoke with police.

Kentucky State Police are investigating an accident near Lebanon, Kentucky which left one woman dead Sunday morning. Police say 62-year-old Ann Mattingly was traveling east on KY 84 when she lost control of her vehicle just before 10 a.m. They say Mattingly dropped off the shoulder, over-corrected, leaving the roadway striking a tree. Mattingly was pronounced dead on the scene. There were no other injuries reported.

A 22-year-old woman traveling in a gray Scion with three other people died this morning after the car crashed on the Garden State Parkway in Brick Township, New Jersey State Police said. The driver of the vehicle faces multiple charges, including driving while intoxicated, driving while his license was suspended, and causing death while driving with a suspended license, a State Police spokesman Trooper said.
