A demolition worker has been killed in an industrial accident at a West Texas job site. Terry County Sheriff Larry Gilbreath says 43-year-old James Croft of Tyler died at the scene Thursday afternoon when a silo tank fell on him. Gilbreath says the accident happened at a location between Brownfield and Seagraves. A school bus was involved in a traffic accident Friday morning in Douglas County. No children were on the bus at the time, said a Colorado State Patrol spokesman. A minivan and the bus were involved in a collision around 9 a.m. on U.S. Highway 85 between Sedalia and Happy Canyon Road. Two people for the van were taken to Littleton Adventist Hospital. Further details on their injuries were not available. Highway 85 was closed in both directions by the incident.

A driver was arrested and charged with attacking a Massachusetts State Trooper after a minor accident on Interstate 93 Friday morning. Nassive Palmer, 30, of Woburn, had pulled over in the breakdown lane on 93 south in Medford around 7:30 a.m. after his Dodge Caravan allegedly rear-ended an Audi. As Trooper Nicolo Falco asked each driver for their license and registration, police said Palmer “began to become uncooperative” and tried to drive away.

Capitol Police on Friday are continuing to investigate a crash that occurred around 3 a.m. that sent a car airborne and into a tree. According to Capitol Police, a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on South Capitol Street near D Street SE crashed and briefly flew through the air into a tree. The male driver, later identified as Hunter B. Harries, 19, from McLean Va., was trapped in the vehicle, and was eventually rescued and transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

A Los Angeles Police Department officer, later identified as Nicholas Choung Lee, 40, was killed Friday morning in a crash involving a dump truck and a patrol vehicle in Beverly Hills. Fire-rescue personnel responded to the crash at Loma Vista Drive near Doheny Road, near the Greystone Mansion area. A male officer died in the crash, according to the LAPD. A female officer and the truck driver were hospitalized in critical condition. Officers gathered at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, just southeast of the crash site, to wait for updates.

Authorities closed Interstate 29 in western Iowa after a truck veered off the freeway and caught fire.

The driver of the truck was found dead, but it's possible he had a medical condition that led to the Thursday morning crash.

The Woodbury County Sheriff's Office says the incident happened when the truck, which was hauling a trailer filled with hamburger, veered off I-29 near Salix, south of Sioux City.

The truck crossed a shallow ditch, came to rest in trees and caught fire.

A 67-year-old man and his 43-year-old wife died Thursday night when they were stopped on 65 Highway in Sedalia and another car rammed into them.

Eldon Coleman, 67, was stopped on the highway at about 10:20 p.m., facing eastbound because of a prior crash. Neither he nor his wife, Melissa Coleman, 43, were wearing a seatbelt when the 63-year-old driver, heading southbound crashed into them.

Dale Carmichael, 63, of Booneville was wearing his seatbelt and survived the collision.

Both Eldon and Melissa Coleman were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are seeking the public's help in identifying the driver in a hit-and-run crash late Thursday that left a man clinging to life.

The victim, a 53-year-old man, was crossing Domino Lane near Harmon Road in Upper Roxborough when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, police said. He was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he remained in extremely critical condition last night.

A 39-year-old Machias man was arrested by state police for felony drunken driving after he allegedly caused a rear-end crash Thursday at the intersection of Lakeview Boulevard and State Route 16 in Machias.

Steven Howe was arrested on the felony charge after it was confirmed he had a previous DWI conviction in the last decade. He also was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He faces further proceedings in Machias Town Court in several weeks. No one was injured in the accident.
