A 23-year-old man died Thursday after his car collided with a tractor-trailer north of Williston, police said Friday.

The crash occurred about 9 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Highways 2 and 85 north of Williston, said Lt. Kenneth Owens of the Williston Police Department.

A Toyota Corolla driven by the 23-year-old was heading north while a semi-truck driven by James Pegelow, 61, of North Branch, Minn., was heading south and making a left turn, Owens said.

A 26-year-old Grand Island woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning when her vehicle crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming vehicle in Pennsylvania, just south of the New York State line, Pennsylvania State Police reported.

Lindsay M. Schmit was pronounced dead at the scene by the McKean County coroner, following the crash that occurred at about 6:15 a.m. Thursday, on Route 446 near the state line.

A collision between a motorcycle and pickup here Thursday evening left the biker with a minor head injury.

West Fargo police say the driver of the pickup, Tyler Laden, 25, made a left turn in front of the motorcyle, driven by Jeremy Cusey, 44. The motorcyclist was southbound on Veterans Boulevard and struck the pickup in the intersection.

Laden, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured. Cusey was not wearing a helmet at the time and sustained a minor head injury and was treated and released at the scene by FM Ambulance.

A rollover accident on northbound I-35 has claimed the lives of two children.

The crash was reported just after 5:30 p.m. on Thursday at mile marker 142 near Von Ormy.

According to the San Antonio Fire Department, there were 5 passengers -- three adults and two children -- inside the Chevy Tahoe when it flipped over near a concrete barricade.

A 4-year-old died at the scene of the crash. Police said a 3-year-old became trapped under the vehicle and was transported to an area hospital.

Two Virginia Beach residents were critically injured during a vehicle crash in Greensville County Thursday morning, and one has passed away.

Around 10:30 a.m., Troopers were called to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Route 58, east of Route 606 (Grassy Pond Road), according to a spokesperson with the Virginia State Police.

A driver involved in a high-speed chase was tackled by an off-duty officer after he crashed into another vehicle, bailed and tried to run from the scene.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety began pursuing Rodolfo Nunez, 39, for reckless driving on southbound Interstate 17 at about 5 p.m.

The chase ended up on Phoenix surface streets.

Nunez struck another vehicle at 51st Avenue and Cactus and then bailed out, officers said.

As he ran down a sidewalk on an overpass, the off-duty officer saw him fleeing and tackled him.

A fiery accident involving two tractor trailers shut down a portion of Interstate 20 in Douglas County for several hours Thursday afternoon.

Troopers with the Georgia State Patrol say a tractor trailer caught fire after running into the back of another just shutting down all eastbound traffic just past Lee Road just shortly after noon Thursday.

Westbound traffic was also delayed due to onlooker delays.

One lane of traffic was opened around 3:30 p.m. as wreckers worked to haul away the pair of semis.

Delays are expected through the evening rush hour.

An investigation was underway Thursday in the death of a 22-year-old woman who crashed a Jeep along Interstate 8 in Alpine, injuring a man in the front seat and a 1-year-old boy in a safety seat in the rear.

The woman braked to avoid slowing traffic, swerved, and the Jeep went down an embankment along eastbound lanes, west of Tavern Road, about 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Kevin Pearlstein.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol has identified the Kentucky men killed Thursday morning when their car slammed into a tractor trailer at about 80 mph in Robertson County.

The wreck occurred shortly before 2 a.m. on Lake Springs Road at the Highway 31 intersection on the Robertson-Sumner county border.

A tractor trailer was attempting to turn left from Lake Springs Road onto Highway 31 when it was rear-ended by the car, according to the THP report.

Authorities are investigating what caused a train to collide with an 18-wheeler crash in northeast Houston.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. Thursday on Liberty Road at E. Houston Street.

A hazmat team with the Houston Fire Department responded to the scene to assist with cleaning up debris from the accident.

Officials say a Kansas City Southern train was involved in the crash.
