Portland-Auburn, MENew Hampshire State Police say a driver died after experiencing a ‘‘medical event’’ and colliding with an oncoming vehicle.
Police are still investigating the collision, which happened at about 8:40 a.m. Tuesday on Route 3 in Columbia.
Police said a driver heading northbound on Route 3 crossed the center line and struck a pickup truck head on. Their investigation indicates the car driver experienced a medical event, causing the vehicle to go into the other lane. Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors.

Hartford & New Haven, CTA 26-year-old Rhode Island woman has died after crashing into a school bus in Stonington, police said.
It happened just before 7:30 a.m. Monday, police said. According to police, Sarah Delano of Westerly, R.I., was driving westbound on Pequot Trail in Stonington when her car crossed the center line and collided with a school bus driving in the opposite direction. Delano died at the scene.
Police said no passengers were aboard the bus at the time of the crash. It’s not clear if the driver, 69-year-old Jane Toth of Pawcatuck, was injured.

New Orleans, LAState police say a 21-year-old Thibodaux man died in a head-on collision on La. 182 in Raceland.
Troopers say Andrew Carter died after the car he was riding in crossed the centerline and struck an oncoming car around 3 p.m. Sunday.
Troopers says Carter was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Harrell says the drivers of both vehicles - both wearing seat belts during the crash - were taken to Thibodaux Regional Hospital with severe injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.

New Orleans, LAA two-vehicle crash killed one person and injured two others on State Road 25 in Washington Parish.
Authorities with Louisiana State Police said the crash happened just before 6 a.m. on S.R. 25 when a Ford F-150 pickup driven by Charles Toon, 35, of Foxworth, Miss., crossed the center line and hit a Chevrolet Silverado.
The driver of the Silverado, Jonathan Bickham, 32, of Franklinton, was hit head-on and died of his injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.
Investigators said Toon may have been drinking, and a blood sample was taken. Results are pending.

Birmingham, ALA Jacksonville man died and an Anniston man was injured when their vehicles were involved in a head-on collision early Friday.
Jed Dautenhahn, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering significant blunt-force trauma, the Star reported.
The crash happened on Bynum Leatherwood Road around 5:20 a.m. Dautenhahn was driving a 1991 Honda Accord that collided with a 1999 Ford pickup truck driven by Lester Ledlow, 58.
Ledlow was taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The crash is under investigation.

Birmingham, ALAuthorities on Friday identified a man killed in a head-on collision on Narrows Road near Alabama 79 in Pinson Thursday night.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the man as Daniel Clayton King, 35, of Trussville. Authorities said King was driving east on Narrows Road around 7:16 p.m. when he crossed the center line and hit another vehicle head-on. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Indianapolis, INOne person was critically injured, two others seriously hurt in a head-on crash in Greenfield late Wednesday.
The crash happened shortly before 11 p.m. in the area of State Road 9 and Chapman Drive.
Two passenger vehicles were involved in the crash.
The first vehicle was driven by 26-year-old Jeffery M. Franklin of Greenfield.
The second car was driven by 18-year-old Dillon Woods from Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Woods had a passenger with him identified as 21-year-old Christopher J Ryan from Greenfield.
Investigators say Franklin was heading north on State Road 9 at the time of the crash.

Pittsburgh, PAThree people were injured Tuesday evening in a head-on crash in West Deer Township.
Three people are injured when a minivan and an Infiniti collide head-on in West Deer Township on Tuesday evening.
Authorities said a minivan and a car collided about 6:21 p.m. on Oak Road.
An adult and a minor from the minivan and another adult from the car got out of the vehicles on their own and were taken by ambulance to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, authorities said.
Their injuries were described as "traumatic," but their conditions were not immediately available.

Oklahoma City, OKThree people died after a car traveling in the wrong direction on U.S. 81 hit another vehicle head-on, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported. About 8:15 p.m. Friday, a car with one driver and one passenger was headed north in the southbound lane of the highway about a half mile south of Bison. It struck the car of Antonio Medina Jr., 23, of Enid, who was traveling northbound. Medina, who was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, troopers said.

St. Louis, MOFive adults and three children were injured in a head-on crash in north St. Louis Friday evening. St. Louis Fire officials said two of the children and four adults suffered serious injuries, but said none of the injuries appear life threatening. All of these involved were transported to the hospital. Authorities said the accident happened around 5 p.m. at North Broadway and Pitzman. Police have not said what caused the accident.
