Pittsburgh, PAThe southbound lanes of Interstate 81, between exit 24 in Southampton Township and exit 20 in Greene Township, have reopened following an accident that claimed two lives and injured five at 3:10 p.m. Sunday, according to police and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
A northbound vehicle crossed the median and struck a second vehicle traveling south, police said. The second vehicle was pushed into another southbound vehicle at mile marker 21.5, near exit 20 in Greene Township.

Birmingham, ALAuthorities have identified the man who died in a three-vehicle wreck Saturday afternoon in Walker County.
William Earl Lovelady, 71, of Dora, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lovelady was traveling westbound on Highway 78 when he lost control of his vehicle near Sharon Boulevard and crossed the median. He hit a guardrail and bounced back into oncoming traffic. His car was hit head-on by a semi-truck and then by a second vehicle.
Dora police responded to the crash around 3:40 p.m. No other injuries were reported.
The wreck remains under investigation.

Salt Lake City, UTA Utah Department of Public Safety spokesperson released the name of the victim involved in a fatal car accident on U.S. Highway 6 Friday night.
Gregory D. Leavitt, 34, of Pleasant Grove died in a fiery collision with a semi-truck, after veering into oncoming traffic near Spanish Fork Canyon, according to a press release.
The collision caused the semi-truck to jackknife and spill two trailers full of coal onto the highway. It also caused a brief fire in the cab of the semi-truck, injuring driver David Lee of Orem.

Cincinnati, OHTwo people were killed when their vehicles collided head-on Thursday afternoon.
Ohio State Patrol troopers said the accident happened on U.S. Route 52 in Monroe Township about 3 p.m. Thursday.
Troopers said one driver died at the scene and the other died on the way to the hospital.
Investigators said both drivers were the only occupants of their vehicles.
The victims have been identified as Ryan Holland, and Garry Gloeckner.
Route 52 has been closed at South Altman Drive since the time of the accident. There was no estimate of when it might reopen.

Birmingham, ALA Sylacauga man was killed and three other people were injured Thursday morning in a wreck in Oak Grove, according to Alabama State Troopers.
Edward Dixon Guy, 81, was pronounced dead at the scene after the 1999 Toyota he was driving collided head-on with another vehicle on U.S. 280 in Oak Grove around 9 a.m. Thursday, according to a news release from a Alabama State Troopers spokesman.
The other vehicle was a 1991 Ford driven by a 30-year-old Hoover man. The driver and two passengers in the Ford were hospitalized with injuries.

Cincinnati, OHA woman died in a crash in Adams County on Wednesday evening.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Phyllis A. Walls, 68, of West Union, was traveling southbound on Brush Creek Road at about 7:30 p.m. when she struck an oncoming pickup head on.
Walls was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Adams County coroner.
The pickup driver, Mary A. Channell, 69, of Manchester, was airlifted to UC Medical Center for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation.

Tampa-St. Petersburg, FLThe Florida Highway Patrol has arrested a Zephyr Hills man and three of his family members in connection with a head-on hit-and-run crash that sent a Pasco County Sheriff's Office deputy to the hospital.
Deputy Darren Hill, 29, of Wesley Chapel was seriously injured when his cruiser was hit by a F-150 Ford truck in Wesley Chapel area early Wednesday morning, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Seattle-Tacoma, WAThe driver of a pick-up called his girlfriend to complain of chest pains just 10 minutes before his vehicle crossed the center line of State Route 7 and struck another vehicle. The driver is dead and six people from the other car were taken to the hospital after the collision. Both lanes of SR 7 are closed at 316th Street East near Eatonville and traffic is being detoured due to the collision. Two adults were taken to MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital and four children are at MultiCare Mary Bridge Children's Hospital. Their conditions are not available at this time.

Everett-Bellingham WAA head-on crash on Guide Meridian left two young men dead early Tuesday, Dec. 31, according to the Washington State Patrol. Travis Lee Holst, 23, the driver of a green '03 Chevy Tahoe, had been driving northbound on Guide Meridian before he crossed the center line near Smith Road. The Tahoe crashed head-on into a silver '97 Honda Civic driven by Brox Mitchell Browning, 20, of Lynden, at 12:17 a.m. Browning died at the scene.

Sunday, December 29, 2013A husband and wife are dead after a three-vehicle accident near Simpsonville Monday night, according to the Highway Patrol and Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
Leanna Carolina Turner, 23, and her husband Samad Fard Muhammad Turner, 30, were killed after their vehicle collided with a pick-up truck head-on on Fairview Road around 10:40 p.m.
Samad Turner was the driver, and Leanna Turner was the passenger in the 2008 Nissan. Both were wearing seatbelts, according to the Greenville County Coroner.
