A woman who was seriously injured Friday evening in a motorcycle crash has died from her injuries.
The motorcycle accident occurred near the intersection of Coconut and Northlake boulevards in suburban West Palm Beach, said Captain Albert Borroto, spokesman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.
The driver, 60-year-old Shari Lynn Carney, was in the far left U-turn lane and struck the raised curb of the center grass median, according to PBSO.
Emergency crews responded a few minutes before 9 p.m. to reports of a motorcycle crash and found Carney lying in the roadway.
A driver trying to pass slower cars collided with a semi on the Beeline Highway Thursday and died upon impact, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
Traffic investigators say Chad M. Sutphin, 26, of Boca Raton was westbound on the Beeline when he attempted to pass other vehicles.
The sheriff's office says 44-year-old Oscar Vargas of Philadelphia was eastbound pulling a 48-foot trailer with three vehicles on it when he and Sutphin collided.
Vargas was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
A deadly crash involving a Tri-Rail train and a vehicle shut down traffic at Linton Boulevard and Congress Avenue in Delray Beach Thursday.
At 10:45 a-m, northbound train P618 struck a car at the Linton Blvd crossing, according to a Tri-Rail spokeswoman.
According to Delray Beach Fire Rescue, the driver was heading eastbound on Linton and was the only passenger in the car. The driver died at the scene.
At least seven Tri-Rail passengers complained of minor injuries and were transported for treatment, fire rescue said.
A motorist who struck a 17-year-old student on 58th Avenue at 6:30 a.m. Thursday has been cited for failing to stop for a school bus, according to a Indian River County Sheriff’s spokesman. The bus was stopped and its lights were on and a sign was out when the student was attempting to cross 58th Avenue, at 42nd Street, to get to the bus, police said. Emergency officials said the female student was talking before she was taken to the trauma center at the Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute, Fort Pierce, emergency officials said.
A wreck involving a motor scooter Wednesday morning injured two people in Wellington. The crash occurred around 7 a.m. near the intersection of Palm Beach Point Boulevard and Sunnyland Lane. When rescue crews arrived, they found two patients lying on the road, according to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Cpt. Albert Borroto. The two patients were taken by Trauma Hawk to St. Mary's Hospital.
A 76-year-old man was killed Monday morning in a crash involving a semi on Clint Moore Road between East Rogers Circle and West Rogers Circle, according to Boca Raton police.
The victim was identified as Irving M. Mangel of Boca Raton.
At about 6:08 a.m., investigators said the driver of the tractor-trailer, Johnny Ray Arden, 69, of Kingston, Tenn.,was traveling east on Clint Moore Road and was attempting a u-turn.
Mangel was a driving a 2014 Hyundai Equis west on Clint Moore Road when he collided with the trailer. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A child, four teens and two adults were injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday evening at the intersection of North U.S. Highway 1 and Tequesta Drive in Tequesta, said Sgt. Max Lally, spokesman for Tequesta Police Department.
A vehicle traveling north on U.S. Highway 1 attempted to make a left turn unto Tequesta Drive, cutting in front of a vehicle traveling south on U.S. Highway 1. The occupants of both vehicles were injured; the ones traveling on the southbound vehicle sustained more severe injuries, Lally said.
A male motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car on Military Trail in Riviera Beach Thursday afternoon, according to Riviera Beach Police Department.
Police say the motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital as a trauma victim and three people in the car were evaluated at the scene.
Military Trail Southbound will be closed from Beeline Highway to Canterbury Drive pending conclusion of the police investigation.
A vehicle struck and killed a bicycle rider Wednesday morning in suburban Boca Raton, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
The crash happened just after 9 a.m., on Lyons Road just north of Clint Moore Road, the sheriff's office says.
"I was hoping it would never happen -- to see something like this but I came through here just a little while ago and saw it happen," said a witness.
Lyons Road was closed for a time.
The sheriff's office vehicle homicide unit will investigate.
The victim has not yet been identified.
Nine migrant workers were injured Tuesday evening when the bus they were traveling in overturned in the 30,000 block of Okeechobee Road (State Road 70) near Fort Pierce, said St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.
The small migrant labor bus ran off the road, hit the median and landed on its side, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.
He said the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. in rainy conditions.
