Ricky Robertson, 26, Chase Wiggins, 28, and Rosemary Wieske Hopkins, 49, die in single-vehicle crash at Loop 820 and Iron Horse Boulevard in Richland Hills, Texas

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday on Loop 820 at Iron Horse Boulevard. Police said three people died in the fiery crash after the driver took the Meadow Lake exit but did not stop at the light. The vehicle hit a concrete wall, then went over a second wall before ending up in the main lanes of Loop 820 where the car burst into flames. Investigators are working to identify the victims.

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — North Richland Hills police say three people were killed in an early morning wreck when a vehicle exited a highway, failed to stop at a red light and struck a series of traffic barriers. North Richland Hills police said in a statement the vehicle was traveling westbound on Interstate 820, northeast of Fort Worth, when it exited around early Sunday. Authorities say it’s unclear why the driver failed to stop before the vehicle struck a guardrail, a concrete wall and then careened over a second concrete barrier before coming to rest. Officers responded to the crash at I-820 at Iron Horse Boulevard around 2:30 a.m., the department said. One person was ejected before the vehicle was engulfed by flames.

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Three people lost their lives early Sunday in a fiery crash in North Richland Hills. Police said the westbound lanes of Loop 820 were closed during the crash investigation. The extended-cab pickup truck hit a guardrail, slammed into a concrete wall, went over a second concrete wall, landing on North East Loop 820 and bursting into flames. In a written statement, police said the driver of the vehicle failed to stop after exiting the westbound Loop 820 toll lanes at Meadow Lakes Drive at about 2:30 a.m. First responders found one victim had been ejected; two others were found inside the charred truck.
