Highway 288

It was about 4:00 a.m. when a car that witnesses say was driving erratically on Highway 288 left the roadway, drove up an embankment, and flipped. Before the incident witnesses claim they saw the car stop on the side of the road several times before driving and swerving across all of the lanes.

An overturned tractor-trailer has blocked all lanes of traffic on Highway 288 soutbound near 610 South. The accident occurred at approximately 2:05 PM Monday. We will have more information on this story as new details become available.

A man was killed Saturday night when a Houston police officer hit him with an department-issued pickup on Highway 288.

Investigators said the officer was heading home around 10:40 p.m. Saturday, when a man darted in front of him on the stretch of freeway near Holcombe Boulevard.
