A Maine man said he crawled 2 1/2 miles in below-freezing temperatures to get help after breaking his leg in a snowmobiling accident. Nicholas Brown said it took him more than six hours to crawl down a hill in the town of Mexico last week to get to a friend’s house.

A 38-year-old Stoughton man was seriously injured Monday night when his snowmobile crashed into a pine tree. Joshua P. Smith was snowmobiling about 10 p.m. on private property in the Town of Dunkirk when he tried to cut between some pine trees, according to the Dane County Sheriff's Office.

Texas singer and songwriter Steven Fromholz has died in a hunting accident when a rifle fell and discharged. The Schleicher County Sheriff's Office on Monday said the accident happened at the Flying B Ranch near Eldorado, about 40 miles south of San Angelo. Fromholz was 68.

A 55-year-old construction worker was killed Monday morning at a job in Windsor Township, York County. Police identified the victim as Benedict Todt, of Gardeners, Adams County.

A man has been found dead and a woman sick at a West Texas motel in what investigators believe was accidental carbon monoxide poisoning. Lubbock police on Thursday responded to the Budget Motel when two guests who were scheduled to check out could not be reached in their room.

A 15-year-old boy was in serious condition early Friday afternoon after an accident at Cache County’s Beaver Mountain Ski Resort. A resort ski patrol spokesman confirmed that the boy was hurt about 12:35 p.m. when he lost his balance during a ski jump and landed on his head.
