At least two people were killed early Tuesday morning after the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said a big rig hit crossed over into oncoming traffic in Merced County.

Authorities said Ieli was driving a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe and Diaz was a passenger in a 2011 Ford Fusion. The CHP said both men were pronounced dead shortly after officers arrived on scene.
