1 dead in Madera County crash on Highway 145

Koop was heading west on Highway 145 about 12:40 p.m. when he drifted into the eastbound lane and hit a truck hauling a boat, the sheriff's office said.
One man was killed Sunday in a head-on collision on Highway 145 near Highway 41 in Madera County, the California Highway Patrol reported. The dead man was identified Sunday night as Caleb Ryan Koop, 25, of Fresno, the Madera County Sheriff's Office said. Koop was heading west on Highway 145 about 12:40 p.m. when he drifted into the eastbound lane and hit a truck hauling a boat, the sheriff's office said. The two occupants of the truck were taken to area hospitals. Their conditions were not immediately available. Highway 145 between Highway 41 and Road 38 was closed for a time to through traffic while the crash was investigated, the CHP said.
