Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors at this time, but Schlemmer said the investigation is still in its early stages. Schlemmer said it appears the man was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk.
A pedestrian suffered serious injuries to his face or head and was rushed to the hospital after getting hit by a car at 8 p.m. on Sunday night. The Richmond Police Department who responded to the accident which happened at the 3500 block on Rheem Avenue in Richmond, California, is asking anyone who might have witnessed the accident to come forward. They also said that the driver of the car is cooperating with the investigation.
