A elderly man was struck and killed by a garbage truck Friday morning in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood.

Authorities have not released many details but the collision occurred at Jones and O’Farrell Streets about 7:40 a.m.
Fire officials said it appears a Recology garbage truck moving in reverse struck the pedestrian, killing them.
Officials, however were still on scene conducting an investigation
