Woman dies in crash involving semi in Cowley County
The crash happened around 11:50 a.m. on Highway 166 at 211th Road, east of Arkansas City. The Kansas Highway Patrol said a 79-year-old woman died in the crash. Her name was not released.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash log, just before noon Sunday the driver of a 1999 Toyota Camry, Janice A. Tandarich, 79, of Oologah, Okla., attempted to make a u-turn in front of a 2011 Freightliner semi-truck driven by Thomas D. Walker, 50, of Lavaca, Ark., at U.S. 166 and 211th Road.
