Tyler Farley was driving his 1997 Cadillac at a high rate of speed on M-21 when he lost control of the vehicle and it left the roadway. The car stopped in a field, and then caught fire with Farley inside. Witnesses pulled Farley out of the burning car, but he was still critically injured.

Cecil was driving the pickup when he struck a riding lawnmower which was in the roadway. He was thrown from the pickup after he hit a tree and rolled over. He was hospitalized and later died from his injuries. The man on the riding lawnmower suffered minor injuries.
