Police report fatalities in New Mexico bus crash

Multiple people were killed and others were seriously injured Thursday in a crash involving a commercial passenger bus and a semi-truck along Interstate 40 in New Mexico, near the Arizona border, authorities said.

The bus began its route in St. Louis Wednesday morning as was scheduled to arrive in Los Angeles Friday morning.

State police say the two vehicles were traveling in opposite directions when one of the truck's tires blew out, causing it to cross the median and hit the bus.
