Rebecca Schmidt, 51, was driving west on Chestnut Avenue near Duncan around 10:50 a.m. when her vehicle went left of center, striking a 1999 Lincoln, according to an accident report. Officials do not know why Schmidt's vehicle went into the eastbound lane. The driver of the Lincoln, identified as Wanda Hudson, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
